ABOUT MATTHEW BARNEY

As Mrs G. Cizeron, a great curator in PARIS MOMA peered at my drawing " Jacob and Laban's goats " telling me " excellent mastering of drawing...This drawing was also inspired by Michael Angelo and Masaccio 's thinking about figuration...
Then she took me at the entrance of the Museum and invited me to visit Mr. BARNEY' S Cremaster...

allow me explain my views about CREMASTER

1-) the green ' willow " color is kind of a signature of Master Albrecht Durer and is surrounding the drawing up this page...

2-) Allegorie de la fecondité ( Praise to POMONA) by Jacob JORDAENS,
lif you look at the right lady sat , peering at a grape
this is a the key.....
Main ideas comes from the " still leben " or Nature morte in french.

3-) the pearl and the ribbons

A-) on the point of shape analogies, there is much to say between the BRAIN functionning, the spiral ( and other shapes of reasonning we are not studying here) and the ammonites or snail-home...
The eggs of snails are like pearls, transparent...

B-)The pearl idea comes then to litterature. The Masters of the Glassbead game by German Author Hermann Hesse is the book which describes the best what is happening everydaybetween " great Artist supported by great Curators ".....

There is the understanding of European Art History on the point of view of LOGIC... Then people have just to discover the step further.

4-) the car in the transparent box
Like Snow White, young generations " eat " the car addiction and they find often death.....
LIke a vertebral column for a Human, Cars are vertebral to the modern life...As the elements are made of something looking like " bones "
And also able to provide death.... ( this is a possible " answer to Andy Warhol car crashes )

5) the grand piano

A-) His foot is surrounded by potatoes... This is game with the french word for " culture " that also means agriculture....
And a game with the muscial notes also " round " but potatoes grows burried....
This is what happens to real music in modern world....

This is burried by the medias use of it.... " Hits " ( whatever their musical value might be, some are excellent indeed) grows as potatoes... lots of them... this is also a paradox for music creation in the modern world....

this poses the question of the definition of " music ".....

B-) this is also the meaning of cement pourred in the grand piano with a caviar silver spoon.....Who still need a real piano ?

my additionnal comment : who has listened ; for instance ; to the chamber music of Jean Baptiste LULLY for french king Louis XIV, in a wooden room ? I did... This is extraordinary...

6- ) MY EXHIBITION PROPOSAL TO " ANSWER " MATTHEW BARNEY WAS CALLED
" TRIGONE " Which is a part of the Brain and was conceived as a stroll in the Brain of a kid
though very educated in Art History.....

The Administration of Culture, in FRANCE, never answered my proposal.....
